Vampire Technique
Surely you have heard of "the vampire technique", as it is currently one of the most popular aesthetic-related facial treatments in the world.
Stars of the stature of Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie not only recommend it, but also have it at the top of their favorite aesthetic treatments, due to the multiple benefits it brings to the skin of the face, both in the short and long term.
There is even talk that it has been for several years one of the trends in terms of beauty treatments used by all the artists attending the well-known Oscar awards galas.
The skin is, by default, the part of our body through which our aging is revealed, it is our armor before the world. For this reason, it is not a novelty that there are aesthetic treatments that among their main objectives are to revive youth, and that aesthetic medicine is tirelessly seeking to innovate its treatments to provide each patient with the appearance they dream of.
What is the Vampire Facial technique?
The Vampire Facial Technique is a treatment used in aesthetic medicine, developed by the American doctor Charles Runels, who among his objectives sought to rejuvenate facial skin and its cell regeneration, without the need to subject his patients to expensive surgeries. aesthetics with late results that did not always work.
What Runels perhaps did not expect was the great reception given to this technique, which is now a trend in aesthetic medicine centers around the world.
This technique is carried out by means of two elements already well known in the world of aesthetic medicine, the Dermapen and the Mesotherapy with Growth Factors.
It should be said that the mesotherapy with growth factors used in this treatment stands out for being acquired through the patient’s blood, then it goes through a centrifuge process and is injected through small needles into the face.
The main objective of this treatment, as we explained previously, is the rejuvenation of the facial skin. And this is achieved since thanks to the application of mesotherapy with growth factors and the Dermapen the skin obtains great luminosity.
Even the small and fine wrinkles, scars or acne marks that the patient has on the skin of his face are eliminated during this procedure, so the results that are presented are very significant.
What makes this treatment different from many others that present similar results is that it lasts much longer, and can last up to more than a year if good facial care is taken.
In addition, we will begin to see its results after the first two weeks after the treatment, a time that is quite short considering the type of treatment we are talking about. And its price is much more accessible than the plastic surgeries that promise these results.
What is the specific procedure of the Vampire Facial technique?
-
This is a treatment that requires to be treated by very good professionals, since it is focused on one of the most delicate areas of the human body, the skin of the face. It is very important that, if you decide to perform this technique, you go to a doctor you trust, in a duly regulated aesthetic medicine center, which has very healthy facilities and the best quality products.
The duration of this procedure will be around 40 minutes depending on the comfort that the patient feels. It should be taken into account that, after the treatment, the skin of the face may suffer visible irritation during the first two weeks after it depending on the healing of the patient, a factor that you cannot ignore if you are thinking of attending an upcoming special event .
Steps to follow in the Vampire Facial Technique
- Blood tests: first of all, it should not surprise us that the center or professional who is going to perform the procedure asks us for blood tests. We must bear in mind that this technique works with the Plasma use, and according to the resolution of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products, this use has strict controls in which medical centers are obliged to avoid at all costs transmissions through body fluids such as blood.
- Cleaning and disinfection: before starting the treatment, it is important that all the areas of the patient’s skin that are going to be treated are properly disinfected and clean, as this will prevent injuries, irritations and even post-treatment infections.
- Blood extraction: a small amount of the patient’s blood will be extracted to be centrifuged (a process that takes about 8 minutes) in a machine specially designed for this, while the rest of the treatment is carried out.
- Local anesthesia by means of cream: to begin, the professional in charge of the treatment will apply an anesthetic cream to the skin of the entire face. This in order to avoid as much as possible the inconvenience that the procedure may cause while it is being carried out. The sensation that this cream will cause can be similar to that of menthol, followed by numbing the skin, until it is completely numb.
- Micro punctures: through the Dermapen, which is a device similar to a pen, with small needles at the tip that will be in charge of giving micro-punctures all over the skin of the face, which will make the cells of this region have the need to repair the lesions by regenerating collagen.
- Infiltration of the Plasma with growth factors: later, the Plasma that we will have obtained after the centrifuge that we had previously carried out will be applied by means of small injections in key points of our face. The sensation is similar to that of the usual facial mesotherapy treatments.
- Cleaning, disinfection and soothing: when finished, the skin will be cleaned and disinfected very delicately, with the intention that there is the least amount of discomfort after treatment. After this they can apply some type of mask that will work as a skin calmer
What should I keep in mind after the procedure?
The care that a patient should have after having performed this technique on their skin is basic but very important to comply with:
- They should not engage in high-impact exercise or water activities for at least the first 48 hours after treatment.
- Places exposed to high temperatures, such as saunas, will be restricted for at least the first week of recovery.
- You should not go out for any reason without sunscreen, since direct skin contact with the sun without any type of protection can cause great discomfort to the patient and largely reverse the procedure.
- Different creams recommended by the professional in charge of the treatment can be used to avoid burning and discomfort that can occur up to two days after the procedure.
